A simple, yet effective, psychological thriller that touches on themes of grief, mental illness and the unbreakable bond between a mother and her child. Catherine Frot is excellent in the lead role - creepy and manic, but also able to elicit sympathy and compassion at the same time. The understated direction and good use of music help add to the simmering tension that runs just under the surface.
