A movie about how a war corrupts humanity. Action is set in Algerian-French war. It's told from the French perspective, but no sides are taken. Technically the film is decent. Story is quite effective, but quite simplistic and unoriginal. Stone made Platoon couple decades ago, there's no improvement over it here.

subtext of the film: algerians were monsters, french only had to retaliate the atrocities of araps, indeed they were so and so moral, humanist and peacelovers! who killed a million people! ----terrible movie. watch 'the battle of algiers' instead.
