The Last Letter doesn't attempt to try and act out the horrendous dehumanisation that the Nazis inflicted on the Jews, but instead it lets you imagine what it was like and, in this case, that is more haunting and disturbing than any recreation images could ever be. The incredibly personal bits at the end where this lady talks about never seeing her son again, and how she is happy that at least he, and thus the most important bit of her, will survive, moved me to tears.
