I remember Cotillard as pretty convincing and the story as allright. But my memory isn't treating this film with much more than that and then the "pretty good"-feeling. I need something really convincing in these portrait-films, and honest; we rarely get that.

Marion Cottilard in one of the best performances in all times. She's perfect, superb, fantastic.

Good French film about the life of Edith Piaf, whom I knew nothing about before hand. Amazing songs, incredible story and great acting by Cotillard in particular made this film a good one.

An examination of a tragic life raised to levels of beauty by moments of sublime montage as well as the film's centerpiece: a fantastic long-take shot that captures the movie as a whole in a single sequence.

What makes this film good is the extraordinary performance of Marion Cotillard, and the eventful life that she is portraying. Unfortunately, though the movie shows a fascinating story, the film itself is not. Still a good movie if you like Edith Piaf and want to know a bit more about her life!

The lead made this film an extra ordinary experience. Thanks Marion Cotillard. I also liked how nicely director broke the linear storytelling.

Direction seemed all over the place and in two minds. What would of been a messy movie is saved by the extraordinary performance from Marion Cotillard.
