In a movie from just before Chabrol made his late-60's-to-early-70's string of masterpiece thrillers, Jean Seberg plays Shanny, a civilian tossed into the dangerous game of international espionage. It has a similar flavor to Hitchcock movies such as Notorious and North by Northwest. Apart from a few interesting set-pieces it never really soars, and it's a real letdown if you've seen Chabrol's subsequent works.
