Hmmm. Is this the first ever cinematic depiction of cannibalism? Perhaps not, since "cannibalism" implies an intraspecies activity, and the "bogie man" or ogre or whatever he is may not actually be human. Whatever this is, it's kind of interesting, but, like so many films this old, too primitive to be effective. We 21st-century film fans are spoiled rotten... and, hopefully, we'll stay that way
