"A turgid, droopy bore." - Jason Clark

Just the sweetest thing. Successfully captures the metaphysical atmosphere of the novel, with the opening evoking the unconscious complexity beneath the simplicity of nature; thus alluding to the forthcoming relationship. Gender roles are curiously inverted, suiting the Gallic adaptation, which is almost as becoming to the film as the gratuitously upheld aesthetic.

Some nice Malick-esque flourishes, but a bit dry.

[Director] Ferran very simply anticipates a future for human relationships with a rush of man-to-woman communication that makes the film -- despite its excessive length (nearly three hours) -- totally winning.
