Decent family film, update of Lassie Come Home (1943) with higher production values and a little extra humour.

Peter O'Toole is magisterial, blustering and sublime: His half-deaf duke still has a touch of Lawrence of Arabia's showstopping power.

A rather pleasant adventure family film, with a nice cozy British feel to it. Sold acting all around, especially from O'Toole. It could've done a better job conveying a sense of distance in Lassie's travelling, though, and the ending felt a little bit drawn out.
