Summary: Probably no one in the public listening to the orchestra's rendition of Ravel's Bolero notices him but the drummer is a regular hero. For, although his mind is assailed by loads of unsettling thoughts and worries, he tries to keep the rhythm at any cost. He knows all too well that he falls out of time only once all the magic of the piece will vanish. Will the drummer hold on till the end...? (imdb)

Nice one-joke-stretched-to-the-max short. They couldn't have cast anyone better than Villeret to portray the hapless hero tottering on his tightrope.

It's an interesting idea, but nothing comes of it. Villeret has definite comedic skills, but they aren't put to good use here, and there's really very little going on to justify even an eight minute runtime.

It's pretty funny and actually kinda made me think: This is one of those things in music that has always baffled me... how somebody can sit there and do something like the drummer in this does, for as long as the drummer does. I won't even say it overstays its welcome (though it's true nothing really happens), because I think this is the point.

I'm not familiar with directors work in feature film. But i feel this time he just told Jacques Villeret to play snare drum and show some emotions. And watching that might be slightly amusing, but 8 minutes is a bit too much. If it were music video i would have rated it higher.

Not great, lacking substance but still interesting.

Pretty pointless. It might be a intricate study of the art of the snare drum (the small variations in repetition, the ability to scale it up and down ever so slightly), but I was stilled bored. And it's only 8 minutes.
