Summary: Rock roadie, Le Donk, has lived, loved and learned. Along the way, he's lost a classy girlfriend but gained a sidekick. He sets out to make Scorz a star with a little help from the Arctic Monkeys.
I'm shocked at how much I don't care about this.....just shocked. Paddy Considine takes on a David Brent-esque character, which should be the greatest thing ever, but the script doesn't seem to know how to use him. I can't laugh with or at anything here and the serious moments just felt flat.
Very nice little mockumentary (just over an hour long) about Le Donk, the narcissistic manager/sidekick of English rapper Scor-zay-zee. Donk must at all times hog the spotlight, despite his talentlessness. The film owes more to Spinal Tap than to Ali G. It is a deadpan satire of the music business, funny but also humane and sympathetic. The dramatic elements are subtle, devoid of sentimentality, and consequentially - genuinely moving.
