Summary: Antoine Sforza, a thirty-year-old young man, left his village ten years before in order to start a new life in the big city, but now that his father, a traveling grocer, is in hospital after a stroke, he more or less reluctantly accepts to come back to replace him in his daily rounds. Very European, The Grocer's Son is a good, though familiar, story about a young-ish man that ran out on his family and comes back after his father suffers a stroke to help out the very small business. The movie shows a few different people on a quest to learn tolerance. It is ultimately a likable character tale, and the scenery of Eastern France is gorgeous.
