I haven't seen any of the series in years, but I remember how much I liked most of them. I remember watching nearly all of them on Channel Horror (back when it was good) when I was really young and loving the hell out of them. From what I remember, I enjoyed 1&2 the same, 3 was the best and Back 2 tha hood was the worst. Still my favorite Warwick Davis performance.

When you start with a concept as absurd as an evil leprechaun in South Dakota, you have license to do stupid and fun things - like stage what is perhaps the only pogo-stick pummeling in the history of cinema. Warwick Davis hams it up - his eyes glitter with chaotic malevolence and his body stance is twisted and threatening. He did not phone this in, and is the sole reason for the success of the movie and the creation of the franchise.

What is worth admiring about 'Leprechaun' is also it's biggest problem: It actually tries to make a horror movie where a midget with a pot of gold is the monster. Warwick Davis' attempt at an Irish accent comes down replacing 'my' with 'me', which says a lot more about this film than it actually should. It does have it's moments of camp goofiness, such as a death-by-pogo-stick event, but overall it's a bit of chore to watch.

The luck of the Irish really ran out when they made this pathetic flick. Davis is amusing, but everything else about this nonsensical cross between _Child's Play_ and _Finian's Rainbow_ is too annoying to be funny. I can't believe this has had a whole series of sequels

Mistakes - 1) After Nathan pours the gasoline and throws the match in the well, we see a canister and shotgun sitting by a well. But when the well explodes, they've disappeared. 2) The narrator says, "The luck of the Irish is being packed and shipped to a little town in South Dakota." But the movie is set in North Dakota. 3) When the well explodes, in one wide long shot, you can see wires trailed along the grass, used for the stunt.

Late entry into the pint-sized horror cycle of the 80ies. It earns points for a few novelty deaths and just sheer ridiculousness, but that's pretty much it. The post-Freddy puns of the titular character are annoying and terrible and the acting is... unskilled to say the least. In particular Aniston, who would go on to a decade of sitcom stuff without gaining much in ability.
