Possibly the best animated feature ever made, from a time when filmmakers had quite a bit more faith in the cognitive skills of children, than they do today. As a result, this really _is_ a film for everyone, filled to the rim with imagination and some of that European humour, that went instinct when the philosophy of dumbing down for the audience became the law of the land. Admittedly the Danish version features two legendary actors talent, which also adds tremendously to my experience. Great.

There have been quite a few animated adaptations of this classic french comic series over the series. But I think this one will stand the test of time as my favorite. Whereas the others often rely heavily on projecting current national or cultural stereotypes into the BC era, this is a wonderfully satiric send-up of heroic fiction. It throws in everything but the kitchen sink, and the laughs never stop.

It gets quite trippy in places, plus it has some very arch humour, plus it packs a satisfying wallop of cartoon action in places. Also, its Asterix, which is hard to get wrong given the material. (*Cough recent films cough*)

Great fun, but with some bits that are beyond farce and become bizarre. They end up in a Dali-esque nightmare of beauraucracy at one point that still confuses me.

Probably the best of Asterix's animated adventures, as the animators have a lot of fun with some of the more bizarre tasks Asterix and Obelix must face.

The entire to-and-from bureacrazy bit that holds its own against both Kurosawas 'Ikiru' and Kafkas 'The Trial' is awesome. The rest is merely very, very good.

Les Douze Travaux d'Astérix is probably the best Asterix movie. It's quite unique due the fact that it's the only Asterix which is not a comic book adaptation, enabling the creators to explore animation by throwing in lots of sight gags and tongue-in-cheek references to 70's western culture, which results in a quite chaotic but nevertheless fun movie. Animation is good with lots of funny drawings, music is great. I loved this movie as a kid, and it is much funnier than all of its successors.
