Summary: Set in China in the 1980s or 1990s, the film tells the story of, Li Ming, a young orphan of Tangshan earthquake, who leaves to study at the home of a renowned botanist. Beautiful in so many ways. The language, the women, the nature, the culture, the relationship, the music, the story. Evoked allot of tenderness in me, yet also allot of anger, because it is also very sad, and very unfair. It's difficult to accept that these sort of things really do happen in the world.
