A trick film in the purest sense of the term, it doesn't reach the surreal heights of Melies, but it's one of the most respectable of the era.

A simple and obvious trick today... but it probably blew some fucking minds back in 1907.

A pretty neat trick, nicely coloured & acted. Like most early cinema camera-trick movies I'd love to have been there when it was first shown.

Pretty creative, and even though the how is pretty obvious the way they sell it is quite good.

Clever idea that must appeared amazing back in 1907. Today, eh, still enjoyable but not anything special. I prefer the Japanese Ping Pong variation, hah.

I'm sure it was incredible 100 years ago.

The actors are rolling around on the ground as the camera shoots them from above. When projected, it appears the performers are vertical. Very clever. One wonders if this was being passed off as a genuine acrobatic act a century ago.

Damn, this shit is off the hook. The special effects here are so well done that it's hard to tell how they did it. Nice colorization too. They're really creepy looking, though.

Weird haircuts, hand-painted color, and an old school camera trick make this a must-see.

Neat little optical effect, that is still really enjoyable, even if the illusion is extremely obvious.

Clever optical trick experiment. It only takes seconds to figure out how theydunnit, cause there is no special effect. Though the fun part is how the acrobates gimmick carrying the weight of eachother, trembling in a weird way.

At the time it was genius. Now it's obvious. In the context of 1907 it's quite respectable.
