Came for Rohmer, stayed for the beautiful images. The historical documentary aspect, talking about how the industrial revolution shaped the landscapes of both rural and urban France, was interesting but somewhat dry. The images, however, were stunning, especially those in the second half of steel constructions. Being a documentary, it's completely unlike any other Rohmer film, but worthwhile in its own way.
