Typical Melies -- strong visuals, not much else. It's worth noting that, for all the whining people do about remakes, some movies really do seem to get progressively made better. The Nazi Germany version of the Munchausen story is better than this, and the Terry Gilliam version (a filmmaker clearly influenced by Melies) is better still
