Regardless of how stupid the movie is, and it's pretty stupid, I still laughed throughout. I'm a big fan of Will Arnett and he delivers in this movie. More surprisingly Dax Shepard, who I've never been that big of a fan of, really brought it as well and the chemistry of the two was great.

Firmly entrenched between legitimate comedy and "guilty pleasure" status, Will Arnett and Chi McBride both make their fairly cliché characters their own, and the predictable elements are totally redeemed by the crazy plot directions. A lot better than I expected it to be.

Bob Odenkirk plus Will Arnett equals comedy gold, right? Couldn't be more wrong in this case, thanks to a script by State alums Ben Garant and Thomas Lennon, who are pretty funny, but can't write for shit (see also: Taxi, The Pacifier, etc.), and professional untalented douche Dax Shepard (whose only redeeming role was Idiocracy. Let's Go to Prison falls flat at every opportunity. How Odenkirk and Arnett would go on to collaborate on the very enjoyable Brothers Solomon remains a mystery.

Interesting choice to cast Shepard and Arnett in a comedy then not let them be funny. A few of chuckles here and there, mostly coming from Chi McBride. Not enough laughs for a comedy and not enough substance for anything else.

A fun revenge comedy that stays smart without veering into simple slapstick or gross-out moments, Let's Go To Prison is, alas, let down by a plot that can't quite match up to the nice interplay between its stars and its very funny script. It's clever, but not as clever as it wants to be.

Chi McBride carries this mediocre comedy. Sadly, Will Arnett is exposed as being funny, but unable to rise above the material and Dax Sheppard is atrocious, which is part for the course for Dax Sheppard.

Altenate title: G.O.B. Goes to Jail. I was pretty baked when I saw this, and it made me laugh. Some of the jokes are obvious and flop, but others work well. Chi McBride's scenes for example, cliche as they might be, are quite funny simply because he wills them to be so. The ridiculous soundtrack that rolls whenever he's on screen and just his sheer presence as a performer make me giggle. Arnett is hysterical, and the movie rides on his appeal during its best moments. Better than expected.
