Incredibly lighthearted, which is both charming and limiting. Monroe alluring and approachable, and Montand's methodical approach to wooing her is endearing. However, his feelings struck me as perfunctory, and the film is winking at you the entire time, like a joke being explained rather than told.

a highly entertaining drama/comedy movie with extremely well written musical bits. the acting is great, the direction is flawless. easily better than most musicals of it's time, and on top of that one of monroe's better performances.

an incredible and very "real" performance from Monroe plus the plot is amazing... Great to see Bing Crosby and Gene Kelly as "tutors"
