An entirely predictable cheese movie. We were able to play a game where you guess what is going to happen next and what people were going to say next, as an estimation, we got an 87%......that is very very high.

The only good, great actually, thing about this movie is Vanessa Redgrave. The story is meh... Seyfried and her partner are not interesting. Chemistry was out of the equation.

This shampoo commercial, erm, I mean film is all about Amanda Seyfried and her amazing hair which flows like molten sunlight or possibly cooked spaghetti over her tanned and innocent young body, ripe and tender like a summer peach under a thin cotton napkin, as she frolics and gyrates beneath the Tuscan sun amid tones of gold, green and umber. It's practically a pervert's wet dream. Disappointingly, the story has the complexity level of something you would read to a five-year-old before bedtime.

Sappy chick-flick (yes, I know that's redundant) improved slightly by the presence of Vanessa Redgrave in what will surely come to be known as "the Vanessa Redgrave role"--the radiant, other-worldly aging woman.

charming, feel good, predictable romance. Beautiful Italian scenary and trestle tables full of food and generations of families eating gave it the look of an olive oil/margarine advert.

Romantic comedy about a young woman traveling in Verona who joins a group of volunteers answering letters seeking advice about love and then finds love herself. cheesy and predictable, but everyone from Redgrave to Sophie's neglectful fiancé (García Bernal) is so charming, all is (almost) forgiven.

The trailer makes this seem deceptively cliche. Don't get me wrong, there's plenty of cliches in this (mostly the whole "hating each other and then falling passionately in love" trope). But it's a visually beautiful movie thanks to the Italian scenery, and I really wanted to hug Vanessa Redgrave, who was utterly charming in this.

A little too enamored with the cute idea of two long lost loves finding each other in their winter years to be bothered with things like character development and chemistry between the protagonist and love interest. Not terrible, though. Likely to be forgotten in a day or two.

The poise and grace of Redgrave, her reunion on screen with Nero (her Lancelot in Camelot, the father of one of her children), and a mouthwatering tour of Tuscany are insufficient counterweights to the slop bucket of false sentiments about romantic love.

It is predictable and clichéd, but it also stirs enough of an emotional response to be rewarding by its conclusion. The first hour drags on, and the lead character doesn't seem to be the smartest character ever, but I did end up caring about everyone involved. If you want, you can basically watch the entire film in the trailer anyway, although you will miss out on the emotions involved in the final act. I'd say give it a look if you are looking for a romance film set in Italy.

Are you troubled by insomnia? If so, then a single viewing of "Letters to Juliet" is guaranteed to provide at least temporary relief for your problem. Amanda Seyfried once again shows that she has the acting ability of a chair and adds little more than a nice pair of boobs to a plot as predictable as the sunrise. The only redeeming quality here is the presence of Vanessa Redgrave. Otherwise, "Letters to Juliet" is just another piece of dreck geared toward the moronic masses.

Since no one want to market a romantic comedy with old folk in the lead, we have a film where the main character seems completely gratuitous and her own subplot romance seems like an afterthought. It would be nice if we could have a movie set in Italy that wouldn't rely on such tired stereotypes for characters.

Letters to Juliet has a refreshingly earnest romantic charm, but it suffers from limp dialogue and an utter lack of surprises.
