Little Dorrit is rife with scathing criticism of the indolent rich, but the transportation of Dickens' satirical caricatures to screen is somewhat awkward as the tone is torn between serious drama and mockery. Regardless, I enjoyed the central romance, and found myself more taken by the humorous supporting cast than I would have expected. These characters may be shallow they are effectively employed as they cast amusing aspersions on a fictional upper class that is delightful to despise.
