Weird Foustian horror-romance-comedy. More of a filmed play than a movie, it is certainly a new experience. Definitely a movie to see at least once if you dig the dark experimental cinema thing.
I really liked this movie because it doesn't neatly fall into one genre. It has elements of horror, comedy, and theatre, and mixes them quite well. In some ways, it reminded me of Buffy the Vampire Slayer with its quirky take on the myth of Orpheus & Eurydice. The first fifteen minutes are a little slow going, but it picks up after that. Props for the very nice makeup effects.
lo is a misleading movie, you see the title character and read the synopsis and think it's a typical horror flick. it's more like a horror/comedy play adapted into a movie--and keeps the small set and many more theatre staples, nodding here and there to greek theatre. this movie can only really satisfy a small niche crowd, but those who get it can definitely appreciate the good writing and production values in this small budget movie.
