one of the worst movies ever made kthx

I had feared it would be a lot of hip, flashy tough guys with attitude, spouting stupid one-liners and an orgy of senseless violence and all that. Well, it was that, but not to the unbearable degree I thought it would be. The four guys at the center were not as annoying as the rest of the characters, at least. And Ritchie does seem to have a knack for crafting an intricate, Tarantino-esque scenario with some clever business. The jokes weren't that great, but they weren't groaners either.

solid but not great movie

The final 15 minutes or so of this movie def packs quite the punch. Otherwise I just had a hard time following the different characters in the film and I might just not be a fan of the London humor (not to say that this is a comedy).

It was pretty much exactly what I might have expected. Slick writing, exciting action and a couple of standout performances (especially Vinnie Jones). Ritchie's first big hit is by far his most entertaining. Too bad everything went downhill from here. Great film, though.
