Certainly not fun to watch and not worth all the queasiness and shuddering in the end. In the predictable, predictable end. When I finally found out the details of what happened that night, it really drove home just how uninspired this story was.

An exhaustive and fairly miserable viewing experience whose breakneck pacing seems to seems to be influenced by "Run Lola Run", but lacks all of that film's manic energy, replacing it with sullen, flat characters and a laughable villain. There are only so many times you can hear the female lead, "Leave her the f**k alone you f****n' c***s!" before the words she spits out have lost all meaning. If you don't see the climactic "twist" coming, well, I'm not sure what to tell you.

It's fairly effective in terms of suspense but it does more wrong than right. The non-linear chronology and the shaky handheld really don't do this a service, and are clearly just there to make it more trendy. As a drama, it is way too clear-cut; the victims are basically just victims and the baddies are just baddies. Everyone has a role and that's all they do. The twist ending is more self-satisfied than satisfying. You "get it", but it's just not that hot.

Exceptional!!! Without doubt one of the best films that I have watched in a long time. A gritty, true to life storyline with very natural performances, particularly from the two main characters. This film held me from the get go and never failed to grab my attention throughout. Quite a frightening reality, which makes it a sensational Drama.
This is a film that should be on everyone's "must see" list (or at the very least every Brit's "must see" list).

A truely gripping film...if you have any heart at all, it takes a great deal of will power to stick with it, but its well worth the wait. This is a great British film.

It goes upwards for the british movie. after at least only average movies from "the isle" london to brighton convinced with a very gripping plot. Some moments are really heavy and painful but it is necessery for this complex and difficult theme. Awesome debut by Paul Andrew Williams.

Certainly a photographers' film. What I thought most interesting is to consider the film's place among British film; it aligns with convention, but you can clearly see evolution in the works. There's contention in style and content as it aims for mood status, yet the viewer expects the shocking and iconic. I'd be pining, instead, for Shane Meadows if it weren't for the subtle lyricism of writing, "black and blue," to which Paul Andrew Williams gives an advocative nod to influence at the end.
