Really interesting journey, an epic travelogue spanning the globe. Ewen McGregor comes off as pretty naive from time to time but this was well worth the time it took to watch.

Near perfect TV. I must have re-watched this 10 hour bad boy at least ten times, because it has such a distinct style and soul, almost as if it stole them from the journey itself, that it can never get too old. I envy them for having taken this trip, but respect them for taking the time to film it and show it to the rest of us ;-)

The film, like the riders, doesn't really take any time to slow down and truly observe anything worthwhile. Still, by nature of the material it's pretty good. An adventure. By the end you're almost exhausted as they are.

Terrific doc road movie. It's a bit long and stupid sometimes; two reach begging for bikes - looks weird. After all, it's so interesting and breathtaking. This clash of cultures is really impressive to look at and to feel by yourself because you are a part of it. At the end, I had a feeling of bitterness because the trip was over.

Cool when it's at its purest raw travel portrayal (the middle episodes) but most of the series is just spoiled rich boys complaining.

Yeah they're actors and it's difficult to take them seriously at times but despite the production and marketing aspect it's still an interesting documentary. 19,000 miles on motorbikes is pretty much impossible to do _without_ logistics support in the areas they were in so I don't fault them for that. Overall I was surprised at how honest of a portrayal it was and the situations they were in is something any outdoor adventurer can relate to.

Two rich actors beg for motors and get them from BMW, they set out to ride from the UK all the way to Russia towards NY. McGregor and Boorman were honest about their insecurities and feelings, like a diary. Now add a clown as cameraman that caused more problems then everyone else, have a KTM specialist tell them they think it's impossible and the Russian Embassy telling them there's no way out if something goes wrong and you get awesome and adventurous motorcycle trip around the world. Check It!

The diary aspect is interesting but the real stars are the locations and the locals they encounter. Seeing people band together to overcome a crisis/obstacle in real life is infinitely more satisfying watching then fiction. I actually enjoyed this more then the book release.

McGregor wanted to do this, I bet, because it looks like he's going to be mainly remembered for his Alec Guinness impression. Boorman wanted to do this, I also bet, because he owes his entire acting career to his dad and this may be the only production ever in which he's really one of the stars. Whatever the motivations, this is a good adventure story and good travelogue at the same time, with the two leads being generous with the spotlight
