Had it's moments but not very many. Good concept, poor execution. Didn't even do anything special with cinematography. Why film on location if you aren't going to use it to your full advantage?
"Dumped by its original distributor because of its title, Albert Brooks's Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World should, instead, have been ditched for not being very funny." - Nick Schager
This is far and away the least funny movie I've ever seen.
I mostly watch comedies and I couldn't even identify more than 3 or 4 jokes--and of those, I laughed at none.
Looking for Comedy in the Muslim World may have its moments, perhaps enough to prove a worthwhile viewing for most that enjoy Brooks' style of neurotic humor, but it is marred by long stretches of laugh-less developments.
Smug, pandering garbage about the blind xenophobia if the Western World. Never as enlightening as it thinks it is, and the comedy never ever takes off.
It was ok.. but I thought there was going to be more to this movie. Repeated jokes over and over nothing new i suppose.. I'm glad I know hindi, it was atleast enjoyable in that sense to me.
