Gritty and depressing, yet funny and entertaining, all the way through.

good action movie, but still was missing something

Mediocre throughout but the underworld criminal story is kind of interesting. Unfortunately one piece of good acting by Cage does not a great film make.

I should've left after the opening credits. They're the best thing in this movie, which is uncreative in its music cues (Ooh, they played "Cocaine" during the scene where he snorts cocaine! And "Money (That's What I Want)" during the scene when he starts getting rich!), & lazy in its characterizations and use of voice-over. The cynical humor is aggravating, a defense shield against the charge that the film really has nothing to say.

I was actually surprised that I somewhat enjoyed this movie. Although it seemed kind of like I was watching a mash-up of Blow and Blood Diamond. The dialogue lacked creativity and I was completely aware of what was going to happen the entire time. Never the less, still not too shabby.

Definitely watchable. Cage is good and the film raises some important moral issues.

A depressing and quite stupid movie. The action is boring, and the subject matter could have made for a much better and more interesting film.
