ABOMINATION!!! MUST gouge out eyes... CONTAMINATED! TAINTED! It is evil incarnate! When FanGirls take over for Jane Austen the world becomes a soap opera on stilts. If you utterly and completely disconnect this with Pride & Prejudice it still stinks.

I was not expecting to like this as much as I did. I'm an unabashed Pride & Prejudice fan, but this story, which is basically a Mary Sue self-inclusion fanfic, enthralled me. I loved a lot of the scenes, and many of the lines were hilarious. Lots of fun.

Incredibly long and if you haven't seen or read Pride and Prejudice you should definitely do that first.

I thought it was cute, even if a little drawn out at times. I could have done without the crudeness of a few characters and the main character having been living with someone.

At times it's relatively involving, and there are moments that do work pretty well at producing an interesting take on the old Austen narrative, it's overburdened by incredibly cringeworthy dialogue that leaves the whole thing seeming like a the worst kind of Mary-Sue fanfiction. While Bonneville stands out in his role, Rooper isn't a good enough actress to carry the production -- and even less so given the script she has to work with.
