Summary: In 2001, Louis Theroux decides to set out on a journey to interview Michael Jackson. When Michael comes to the UK, Louis approaches Uri Geller but gets turned down. He then finds out that ITV has been granted an interview and Louis sets out for LA to meet a close friend of the Jackson family, promoter and magician Majestik Magnificent, who claims he can set up an interview with Joe Jackson, Michael's father. However nothing seems to go easily for Louis and his target seems further away. (imdb)

Hardly vintage Theroux but worth watching to see Louis uncharacteristically off-form, losing himself in the build-up to questions and saying all the wrong things at the wrong times to screw up two interviews with Joe Jackson. It allows us a quick glimpse into why Michael may have decided to keep any homosexual tendancies secret, but that's about as meaty as it gets. Uri Gellar pops up a couple of times, coming across like a dodgy plumber cornered on one of those rogue trader programmes.

Disappointing that he didn't get to interview Michael but still quite interesting to see the people whom Michael apparently associates with. It was especially worth watching if, for nothing else, to see the interview with Michael's father. Plus you get to see how much Michael, his friends and his fans absolutely loathe any sort of press. Humourously enough Louis Theroux probably would've given Michael the most unbiased and humane portrayal he's had in ages.

Very funny Theroux' docu, about his quest to meet MJ. Those fans were scary, they seemed more dangerous than religion freaks that were shown in the earlier dicus by Theroux.
