In the wake of the success of _Reservoir Dogs_, there were many budget Tarantino-esque crime pictures that suddenly came out from under every rock. This is one of the few that actually works. Exciting, witty, and it's a real hoot to see Jeffrey Combs as a Texas gangster

Fairly weak Tarantino/Natural Born Killers rip off, with Zellweger and Bellows making the most of sub-standard material (though a pre-stardom Renee is miscast). Bad guys are irritatingly overplayed, and the film becomes frustrating as it refuses to commit to being either a spoof of the trash genre or a genuine entry. As it is, it's a dull plodding affair, livened by a hilarious cameo from Fonda which is almost worth the price of admission!

Besides a great opening scene and a decent soundtrack this was pretty much garbage all around. Talkington desperately wants to be Tarantino but sadly he doesn't know how to write dialogue so it just comes off as amateur hour most of the film. The acting is pretty damn terrible with Renee Zellweger giving one of the most one note, boring performances I've ever seen. Needed less love and a lot more .45.

A simple American crime story, coincidentally released in the same year as Pulp Fiction and Natural Born Killers, with which it shares several elements. The fundamentals are there - good chemistry, stylish sequences, various baddies, guns and grisly deaths. The movie is not particularly deep or complex, but at least it moves at a fair pace. Some elements, like the humour, the voiceovers and the acting, just fall a little short of greatness. Worth a look but don't expect a classic of the genre.

Nice one.Got it´s moments. An early Zellweger movie. She´s in great shape here. Liked her too in "Empire Records". The time before she mutates to what she´s today.
