Silly but popular Dracula spoof with Hamilton surprisingly good in a film-long Lugosi imitation. Johnson (as Renfield) is great and there are some very funny moments ("What do you want from him, blood?"), but some unfortunate racist and sexist stereotypes cheapen the overall effectiveness.

At first glance, a standard romantic comedy about Dracula meeting with a modern-day New York girl. However, it's elevated by terrific gags, and a cast that does a phenomenal job selling the dialogue and jokes. They never take themselves too seriously, and always present their characters in an absurdist, hilarious manner. A good, underrated comedy.

I loved this movie as a kid, and some lines from it still echo in my head permanently ("with you it is never a quickie . . . it is always a longie." and "black chicken!") but really, it's kind of a stupid movie.

Charming and funny, with excellent characters and performances (from George Hamilton, Richard Benjamin, and Susan Saint James). Note that the music has been changed on the DVD version. In the original, George Hamilton and Susan Saint James dance to "I Love the Nightlife," but this music has been replaced with another song on DVD, negatively affecting the scene (and the movie).

Slow beginning, but the movie picks up about halfway through. Overall I liked it and found it enjoyable and frequently funny; the characters of Renfield (Dracula's servant) and Rosenberg, Dracula's rival, were my favorites. Rosenburg especially had a lot of the funniest scenes.

This is one of those movies that I loved as a kid and haven't seen in 20 years. I might very well hate it today, but I sure did love vampire George Hamilton back in the day. So I'll go halfway with this one.
