Yes, yes, yes. This is everything I wanted the original to be, given its lofty reputation among genre geeks. Miller takes every idea that worked in the first film (low-angled car chases, colorful villains, an atmosphere of gory fun) and cranks the volume up to the mythical 11. In this one, the battle lines are clearly drawn between bad guys and good (VERY '80s pro wrestling) from the start, which tightens the film up considerably. No melodrama or wasted time here. Just great, balls-out action.

One hell of a great film that combines a classic hero story with an expanded version of the post-apocalyptic Outback wasteland George Miller only showed the beginning stages of in Mad Max. There's action, adventure, and car crashes galore, and the look of the film has become the standard in post-apocalyptic aesthetics. A brilliant film that damn-near created its own genre and inspired dozens of imitators.

Great buddies entertainment ;). You can pretty much turn your brain off, but the action is good, the pacing is tight, and the post-apocalyptic enemies make for an entertaining ride through the wasteland.

Being a little short on petrol is no reason to throw fashion and personal grooming out the window. Also, signalling when you are going to blind-side someone towards a fireball of death is the correct road etiquette.

This is one of the best "kick-ass" action flicks from the 80īs. Always fun to watch!!

Noticeably higher-budgeted than its predecessor, and (perhaps not coincidentally) better in many respects. Some of those wide shots border on artistic, even. Plus, you have to give credit to the film that "Hokuto no Ken" basically owes its existence to.

Successfully elaborates upon and improves the world created with the first film. Bruce Spence is a highlight, as he usually is.

I need to watch more movies with Vernon Wells in them, the guy is seriously a badass and both movies I've seen with him his character is so iconic and hilarious and genuinely creepy. So much better than the original, they didn't have to waste time establishing characters and just went right into the action. It's also incredibly silly yet so entertaining.

I thought the music was uninspired and the plot pretty generic, but in the end it all tied together into something really badass. And I'm a sucker for post-apocalyptic design.
