Summary: The film revolves around Tom and Hannah, who have been platonic friends for 10 years. He's a serial dater, while she wants marriage but hasn't found Mr. Right. Just as Tom is starting to think that he is relationship material after all, Hannah gets engaged. When she asks Tom to be her "maid" of honor, he reluctantly agrees just so he can attempt to stop the wedding and woo her.
Comédia romântica bastante boba, mas que diverte a quem aprecia um filme fácil e suave, com bons atores. Destaque especial ao ator Patrick Dempsey, em uma boa atuação, mantendo seu carisma sempre em dia.
I was expecting a little bit more from this than what I got and I find that disappointing. The cast wasn't as good as it should be. Had a couple of chuckles but that was it.
Paper-thin story, predictable as the sun rising and setting, very weak supporting roles, cheap manipulation of stereotypes for some quick laughs at the expense of the Scots... I really don't know why I bothered watching. The only saving grace is that it stars some newcomer actors instead of Drew Barrymore / Kate Hudson / Matthew McConaughey / Adam Sandler.
So it might be your typical 'rom-com' full of corny scenes and characters but I actually quite liked it. Patrick Dempsey is likeable as Tom, who falls for his friend Hannah at the wrong time as she is soon to be married. Its funny watching Tom try to compete for Hannah's affection against her perfect boyfriend Colin. It seemed to get a little silly towards the end, as well as predictable, but overall it was enjoyable to watch and I'm sure it will please rom-com fans everywhere ;)
It had such an adorable plot! I wanted it to be so much better than it was. The idea of two people being absolute best friends and learning that they are in love with their best friend was great! But I wasn't overly impressed. Sad. Dempsey was great as always, but I thought Monaghan was a little lacking. Plus, lots of pg13 jokes that weren't needed. It was cute enough, but could have been so much better!
