Obvious and preachy propaganda framed in a thin, contrived thriller. Lang's noirish visual stamp can't excuse terrible script and acting. You'd think that a man being persecuted and pursued by Nazis wouldn't have the time to be so smug and jaunty. The British accents, phoned in by American and Canadian leads, are laughable.

One of Lang's better American productions, a mighty fun thriller. It does sag a little bit at times, but builds to an amazing climax. Gloomy cinematography that helps set the stage for noir. It's a treat to see Pidgeon and Sanders square off... two of the best voices in movies. And Bennett is great too. The film provides a lot of thrills, traps and tension, and topical subject matter as well. A real treat, a movie that manages to be fun and yet isn't afraid to explore dark themes.

Effective thriller, marred a bit by Walter Pidgeon and a bit too much emphasis on the love plot. Joan Bennett is very cute in a beret, but the whore with a heart of gold bit wears thin fast.

A "on a chase" film by Fritz Lang that stars Walter Pidgeon, Joan Bennett, George Saunders and John Carradine. Pidgeon plays a big game hunter and he's got the biggest of them all right In his scope and through that scope he sees the fuhrer. Wanted attempted assasination, Pidgeon goes on the run from the Nazi to arrive back in London and met and nestled up with Bennett's character. The ending is one of the greatest and heart-pounding scenes in the film.

Easily the most convincing cockney accent in movie history. Well done Joan Bennett!

It would have been great if Lang could have took this theme head-on instead of this English setting & the [numerous] contrived plot points here. Barely kept me involved, on the whole, but Lang's craftsmanship is evident even in his lesser works.
