Summary: This musical version of Don Quixote is framed by an incident allegedly from the life of its author, Miguel de Cervantes. Don Quixote is the mad, aging nobleman who embarrasses his respectable family by his adventures. Backed by his faithful sidekick Sancho Panza, he duels windmills and defends his perfect lady Dulcinea (who is actually a downtrodden whore named Aldonza). (imdb)

This movie kind of sucks; instead of concentrating on the humor and adventure of the work, it tries to impose a tiresome, endlessly repeated morality tale about "following one's dreams (sic)" that had me rolling my eyes. The implied rape also seriously clashes with the rest of the work's nature. The book was a million times better.

Love this movie. It really says a lot about seeing the world as it should be, and trying your best to make it so. Every song is great as well, and when Quixote sings Impossible Dream and Dulcinea, you can't help but well up a litte bit.
