Painful. This flick is based on some legendary smut penned by the Marquis De Sade, but if this was released today it would probably be rated PG. It's a few boobs, a couple of attempted rapes, one of the tamest S & M scenes you're ever likely to see, and nearly two hours of crappy drama. Klaus Kinski is totally wasted by having him appear (without any dialog, just a lame voice-over) as the Marquis himself in a pointless framing device of him writing the novel in prison. Waste of time.

Biography of two sisters, one turned to crime, the other tried to stay virtuous. Disappointing overall.
