Masquerade

On paper this looks promising: 80's thriller with a cast of Lowe, Cattrall, Tilly and Delany early on their careers. It could be an interesting mix of Brat Pack meets Hitchcock in Hamptons, but unfortunately it doesn't really fulfill that promise, and also misses an opportunity to criticize the yuppie culture. I think the main fault is the direction which is really bland, and makes the film feel like a TV drama. Cast does an OK job and the script offers a couple of nice twists.

watchable

I'm just in the camp that finds pre-West Wing Lowe boring and forgettable. Here he is sweaty, hairless, and adapt to show his butt, BUT he has the charisma of a rock. There are twists, sure, but everything feels like small stakes when the only redeemable character (Tilly) is barely a character.
