Not earth-shattering but does press a few buttons of the mind. (Some obscure ones.) Photography and pacing very much like 60's Buñuel, almost to the degree of being anachronistic. (Which isn't bad, really.)

HOW did all these talented people come together to do a monkey movie? There's a sliver of complexity compared to the American equivalent, and this really puts that stupid idea into new territory, but nowhere near enough to make it watchable.
