A weaker work by Wiseman because he should have concentrated on one area of the subject, either the slaughterhouses or the selling of the meat, a lot more. The slaughterhouse footage by itself would have been a masterpiece however, both unsettling even for meat eaters and yet absolutely fascinating, showing a part of life rarely seen and allowing one to think about the issue, which a film like Fast Food Nation fails at, while staying neutral.
