Summary: In the future, Europe is interconnected via a subway system implemented by the Trexx Corporation. Roger, the film's protagonist, has a typical job and a "normal" life but doesn't take the metro because he believes that there is a government conspiracy which allows the government control over citizen's minds.
The plot doesn't really follow any logical process. It's just... Some people... Somewhere... Are trying to control people's minds... For some inadequately-explained reason. There's nobody to root for, and every character is so bland and expressionless that the movie just seems to coast by, hoping nobody will notice it. It has some unique animation going for it at least, but 95% of scenes are so dully put together that that isn't really enough of a gimmick to keep it entertaining the whole time.
I don't feel like expressing my reaction to this movie here. Instead, I'll transmit my thoughts directly into your brain. --- "It's not bad. Especially if you haven't watched a dystopian movie in awhile. Maybe worth a rental. Netflix would be a good method to watch it. Or go and rent it from a Redbox kiosk. You could pick it up outside the convenience store where you go to purchase your dandruff shampoo. If you really like it, you could buy it from several different stores ..." ---
Innovative and somewhat good looking animation with decent voice acting, but the dialogue is stiff and the plot is just your everyday predictable dystopia with one dimensional (ironic, eh) characters.
90% of my score goes to the highly original and skillfully crafted animation which I found very enthralling. While the technique was curious and appealing it made you a bit confused as you are used to animated figues looking... well animated. In this film the characters are as bleak and stiff as real people (at least in scandinavia) and never really got my affection. The story is a typical paranoid dystopian one, nothing new but more topical today than ever and works good with cool animation
Metropia, sanat stili sayesinde ilgimi cekmisti.
A gloomy, postapocaliptic world, intrigue in the like of those from Rescue Rangers animated series and very original and appealing technique. If you are after new visual experiences, you'll enjoy it - the film is highly moody and esthetically pleasing. However, if you are more interested in good stories, the ridiculous, schematic plot and somewhat unappealing characters will throw you off.
