Summary: Best buddies Mickey, Donald, and Goofy are small-time janitors with big dreams of becoming Musketeers. Peg-Leg Pete, captain of the Musketeers, points out why they'll never make it: Donald is a coward, Goofy is a dim-wit, and Mickey is short. But things change when Princess Minnie demands Musketeer bodyguards when assassins, hired by Pete so he can be king, nearly drop a safe on her. Pete hires Mickey, Donald, and Goofy, the clumsy janitors as Musketeers and Minnie's bodyguards. (imdb)

The Three Musketeers isn't a classic animation (it's rather straightforward storytelling with unimaginative musical numbers) but this version of the classic tale is an amiable enough diversion enhanced by the still-intact funniness of its central trio of characters. In any case, it's preferable to much of the Disney fare that gets theatrical distribution nowadays.

Decent attempt of bringing back Donald, Mickey and Goofy to portray Dumas' legendary trio and while the 'All for fun and fun for all'-tagline promises way more then it delivers, it's still one of Disney's most genuinely entertaining direct-to-video releases.
