I remember it as bad the 80's way. And the music as terrible.

You would never think "De Niro + Charles Grodin = comedy gold", but this works remarkably well

Classic. I had seen this a long time ago but barely remembered a thing about it. Very funny and great characters. The only real fault that I can give it is that it was a little too silly. I know that that was kind of the point but I felt that it was just a little too silly and too perfect. Everything seemed to happen a little too exactly the way that it needed to happen. Not to the level that would be really annoying, just enough to keep it from being a truly amazing film.

A tight script elevated by perfect casting. Farina pulls off a mobster so genuinely over-the-top violent he easily flips from funny 2 scary; Pantoliano's tailor-made 2 play a shyster bondsman; & Grodin & Deniro hit it out of the park as the kind of odd couple pairing we've seen b4. The big difference here is that the changes in their relationship never ring false. The performances r always funny, but the sincere & difficult moments that make the friendship plausible r never sacrificed 4 a laugh.

I remember this because it was the first R-rated movie I ever watched. I thought it was hilarious how much they cursed for no reason - and I loved Charles Grodin (don't know... can't tell you). It was probably not that great.

Enjoyable buddy road movie that enlivens by-the-map plot with sharply drawn characters and settings. Many quotable moments -- not that most people recognize when you quote this movie.

A little long and full of implausibly convenient scenarios, but DeNiro carries what could have been another cheeseball mismatched buddy story in a "'Lethal Weapon', only with the comedy/action ratio flipped" kind of way. Great supporting turn by Grodin, whose underplayed turn as a sincere, white collar Robin Hood acts as the perfect balance to DeNiro's wronged tough guy. The constantly shifting allegiances builds genuine suspense in the film's final act before ending on exactly the right note.

Very funny and exciting at the same time. DeNiro and Grodin are both excellent, and Farina is very funny too.

Really fun buddy flick. De Niro gives a great performance and his interactions with Grodin are awesome. The pace is really fast and it is just an extremely entertaining flick to watch. Check it out.

A comedy classic that is endlessly quotable and a dynamic pairing in De Niro and Grodin. Between the whitty dialogue, cutting action and Elfman composed and Clapton executed soundtrack you can't lose with this classic movie. ps. to this day I still do the litmus configuration
