Mimino

A heartwarming tragi-comedy that might be a little inaccessible to those without the cultural context.

Unabashedly provincial light dramedy; there isn't much of a story arc but it's still very enjoyable. I'm from Tel-Aviv and when I visited Telavi once (in the gorgeous wine country of Kakheti), everyone there told me to watch Mimino for the scene where he tries to call Telavi and reaches Tel-Aviv instead. I loved the dog Zarbazan. One of the better Georgiy Daneliya films, to me.
