Summary: Wounded during the Cold War by a giant white whale Ahab pursues the infamous Moby Dick in present day with a state of the art US Navy Submarine. (by doctor7)
Watch out for the most dangerous whale ever that growls and grunts like a wild beast and kills people/submarines and lies in front of a beach to ambush army people and walks onto an island and has teeth! The ending is weird and extremely slow, I just had to fast-forward it
It stars Barry Bostwick (Rocky Horror) as Ahab, the commander of the nuclear submarine Pequod, and Renee O'Connor (Xena) as the hot female marine biologist he shanghais to help him hunt down a 200-metre prehistoric whale. And they stick to the plot. It's absolutely wonderfully bad.
I should start by saying that I have read Melville's unabridged Moby Dick and I should also say I didn't like it very much. While Moby Dick: 2010 is exactly what you'd expect from The Asylum (campy, ludicrous and poorly made) it is entertaining from it's own sheer absurdity. Sadly my favourite line from the book was botched in the movie. "For hate's sake I spit my last breath at you." Really? *Really?*
