Good!

Poor remake, but stands on its own.

Not so good

It's a remake crediting its namesake as inspiration, but a complete overhaul of the script. As with all modern horror remakes, its attempt at sophistication is its downfall. It's offputtingly overwrought and contrived, and overflows with sketchy subplots of trifling melodrama in-between the torture porn. Do yourself a favor and watch the original (1980) Mother's Day. It is much simpler and vastly superior.

Not that bad. As soon as I started the movie I thought it would suck.. but it isn't that bad.

good idea, I think remake will be worth watching when they film it in 15-20 years

This film contains a few good spins on some typical plots and scenes. Worth a watch.

Pretty useless remake. Rebecca De Mornay was the selling ticket for it. Deborah Ann Woll was also nice to see out of vampire outfit, though she looked pretty same here.

Against all odds this movie was quite entertaining. The director succeeds in making this a suspensfull thriller, with an unknown cast who all do a fairly good job. The characters all have something interesting about them wich makes you want to see the rest of the film. The final 20-25 minutes or so where a bit of a let down for me because the suspense we saw earlier makes way for mindless killing. But even that is good from time to time.
