As much of a jerk as Woodcock is, S.W. Scott manages to make him seem like the lesser of two evils by being completely unlikeable and totally unfunny. The film as a whole is forgettable.

Awful. Thornton plays the role well, but everything else is just terrible. The only genre listed here is comedy, and I didn't laugh once in this film, maybe an almost forced smirk at one or two "jokes", but apart from that, nothing. I can't really say that I expected much to be honest though.

My brain has banned this movie from my memory

This is so sad to see both Thornton and Sarandon in this film.

I can't believe I actually paid to go see this at theaters...

This is a horrible movie. Scene after scene this move just keeps getting worse. What a horrible script. A complete waste of time of all the actors involved.

A few funny or awkward laughs, but not enough of them.

Maybe two laughs in this. Maybe even just one amused smirk. Even with a sure-fire premise, it was as bad a "comedy" as they come. Seann William Scott has never been more unlikable.

Passes the grade.

Nothing special. But funny and good to watch.

Billy Bob Thorton fits his role very well and honestly the flashback scenes of him tormenting children were pretty funny, if you find such terrible things funny. However besides him and Amy Poehler, who's hilarious, the movie is terribly bland. Seann William Scott simply doesn't do it for me as he plays essentially the same role over and over. Give this one a miss, unless you're one of those who think Scott is the greatest comedic actor ever.

If you think someone called Woodcock is an essentially humourous concept, watch this movie.

There are a few laughs to be squeezed out of this film, but unfortunately most of them come from Amy Poehler, who has pitifully little screen time. The rest of the cast (specifically Thornton and Scott) are really rather a letdown, and the whole thing collapses into a mess of cliché screw-ups as Scott's character is pushed towards an edge that, quite frankly, doesn't seem like all that much of a driving force.
