Summary: When the Ratcliffes move to East Berlin, the relationships between the memebers are being tested. The father, Frank (Glen), is enjoying himself with his fellow communists, the mother, Dorothy (Tate), is having a hard time, their oldest daughter, Alex (Ashworth), embarks on various adventures, the younger one, Mary (Barden), becomes a communist spy and uncle Philip (Betts), a cleaner and amateur photographer, falls for Anna (Thalbach), a rat exterminator and cigarette dealer. The most important characteristic of "Mrs. Ratcliffe's Revolution" is its soul. Yes, yes, we all have seen similar films before but this is still a special one - hilarious, moving, realistic, a cry for freedom.
