Summary: Gayathri (Urvashi), a Brahmin girl, becomes the talk of the village when she comes to teach Arabic at the local school to support her poor family. Local Muslims & Hindus, who didn't want a Hindu teaching an Islamic language, become offended & try to stop her, but activist & poet Shekaran (Murali) & school owner Hajiyar (V.K. Sriraman) encourage her to stay on. Ousted from the house she stayed in as a lodger, Gayathri seeks refuge with a kind Muslim family, which further enrages her detractors. (by iceblox)
