Tolerable, but lacks the style of the original.

Astonishing: a remake of a classic thriller that's every bit as good as the original. They came up with a good updating of the original premise, and Hackman does an outstanding job of playing the lead; in particular, the scene where he tells off the bad guys who try to bribe him is just beautiful

Quite a good remake.

A good suspense thriller. Hackman provides a good lead performance and the action sequences are interesting. However somehow the whole affair seems to be suddenly cut short towards the end, leaving the climax of the film built up over a matter of a few minutes. Now I'm not saying that movies should be overly long just for the sake of it, but this could have done with a little more substance to pad it out just a little bit more. Anyway, it still makes for an enjoyable viewing.
