At first I was kind of bored, but then I started viewing the movie as some sort of nightmare. Jeanne Moreau and Lucia Bosé are pretty creepy, particularly when they are coldly tormenting Gérard Depardieu's washing machine salesman character. Everything about this seems slightly off-kilter, and most of the movie contains little dialogue, so there's always this feeling of unreality even when the characters are performing everyday activities.
